Technical systems as social forces

The projects examine how data is collected, translated, visualised or used against people; how surveillance enters everyday spaces; how digital systems shape social relations; and how artificial intelligence produces new images of future, decision and identity.

The projects ask how technological systems affect human freedom, judgment, visibility and responsibility.

Social Systems is the central perspective of this thematic selection. Data to Light provides a connection to Reference Systems through its translation of digital infrastructure into light and space.
